SCSW Chairperson Meets BISP Chairperson to Strengthen Collaboration for Women Beneficiaries

Islamabad – Chairperson Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, Advocate Rubina Aman Brohi, held a meeting with Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme, Senator Rubina Khalid, at BISP Headquarters.

The meeting focused on promoting institutional collaboration for the welfare of women beneficiaries and for addressing the challenges they face in an effective and coordinated manner. Both sides also discussed the proposal to convene a roundtable conference comprising the heads of all federal and provincial Commissions on the Status of Women.

Speaking on the occasion, the SCSW Chairperson emphasized that the issues of women require a coordinated response and called for collaborative efforts among all institutions specifically working for women’s empowerment and protection such as Women Development Departments, Women Parliamentary Caucuses, Women Commissions and BISP.

In line with the mandate of Commissions under their respective Acts, she proposed that all provincial CSWs Chairpersons should collaborate closely with BISP. She noted that monitoring and oversight of programs impacting women’s status is a core function assigned to the Commissions.

Advocate Rubina Aman Brohi appreciated BISP and Senator Rubina Khalid for their efforts to advance women’s financial inclusion, particularly the introduction of the digital wallet system, which she described as a significant step toward economic empowerment of women.
